Upper Scorpius OB Association
The Upper Scorpius OB Association is a group of young, massive stars located in the constellation Scorpius. It is part of the larger Scorpius-Centaurus OB Association, which is one of the nearest regions of active star formation to Earth. The stars in Upper Scorpius are relatively young, with ages ranging from about 5 to 10 million years.
This association contains several bright stars, including Antares, which is a prominent red supergiant. The region is also home to many other stellar objects and is an important area for studying the formation and evolution of massive stars. Its proximity allows astronomers to observe these processes in detail.
