University Grants Commission NET
The University Grants Commission (UGC) National Eligibility Test (NET) is a competitive examination in India that determines the eligibility of candidates for the role of Assistant Professor and for the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in Indian universities and colleges. Conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), the exam assesses knowledge in various subjects, including humanities, social sciences, and sciences.
The NET is held twice a year and consists of two papers: Paper I, which tests general knowledge and teaching aptitude, and Paper II, which focuses on the specific subject chosen by the candidate. Successful candidates can pursue academic careers or research opportunities in higher education institutions across India.
