United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia
The United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM) was established in 2013 to support the Somali government in its efforts to achieve peace and stability. The mission focuses on promoting political dialogue, strengthening governance, and enhancing the rule of law. It also aims to assist in the delivery of humanitarian aid and the protection of human rights in the region.
UNSOM works closely with various partners, including the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) and other international organizations. The mission plays a crucial role in coordinating international support and facilitating the rebuilding of Somalia after years of conflict and instability.
