Union Territories Of India
Union Territories of India are regions that are governed directly by the Central Government rather than having their own state governments. They are created for various administrative reasons and often have special needs or unique characteristics. As of now, India has 8 Union Territories, including Delhi, Puducherry, and Chandigarh.
Each Union Territory has its own level of administrative autonomy. Some, like Delhi, have their own legislative assemblies, while others are administered by a Lieutenant Governor or an Administrator appointed by the President of India. This structure allows for tailored governance to meet the specific needs of these regions.
