Uighur Language
The Uighur language is a Turkic language primarily spoken by the Uighur people in the Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region of China. It belongs to the Karluk branch of the Turkic language family and has several dialects, with the most widely used being the Central Uighur dialect. The language is written in a modified version of the Arabic script, although Latin and Cyrillic scripts have also been used historically.
Uighur is an important part of the cultural identity of the Uighur people, who have a rich history and heritage. The language incorporates many loanwords from Chinese, Persian, and Arabic, reflecting the diverse influences on Uighur culture over the centuries. Efforts to preserve and promote the Uighur language continue amid challenges faced by the Uighur community.
