Ugandan People's Defence Force
The Ugandan People's Defence Force (UPDF) is the military of the Republic of Uganda. Established in 1986, it evolved from the National Resistance Army, which played a crucial role in the country's civil conflict. The UPDF is responsible for defending Uganda's sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as participating in peacekeeping missions in various regions.
The UPDF consists of land forces, air forces, and a reserve force. It has been involved in various operations, including combating terrorism and providing humanitarian assistance. The force also collaborates with international organizations, such as the African Union, to promote regional stability and security.
