UUD 1945
UUD 1945, or the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, is the fundamental legal document that outlines the structure of the Indonesian government and the rights of its citizens. It was enacted on August 18, 1945, shortly after Indonesia declared its independence from Dutch colonial rule. The constitution establishes the principles of democracy, the rule of law, and social justice.
The UUD 1945 consists of a preamble and several articles that detail the functions of the executive, legislative, and judicial branches. It has undergone several amendments since its original enactment, reflecting Indonesia's evolving political landscape and the need for reforms to enhance governance and protect human rights.
