USS Texas (SSN-775)
The USS Texas (SSN-775) is a nuclear-powered fast attack submarine of the United States Navy. Commissioned in 2006, it is the second ship named after the state of Texas. The submarine is part of the Virginia-class and is designed for a variety of missions, including anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface ship warfare, and intelligence gathering.
Equipped with advanced sonar and weapon systems, the USS Texas can carry torpedoes and Tomahawk cruise missiles. Its stealth capabilities allow it to operate undetected in hostile waters, making it a vital asset for national defense. The submarine is homeported in Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay in Georgia.
