USS S-28
The USS S-28 was a United States Navy submarine, part of the S-class fleet, launched on March 1, 1924. It was designed for coastal defense and had a displacement of about 1,000 tons when submerged. The submarine was equipped with torpedoes and had a crew of around 40 men.
During World War II, the USS S-28 conducted patrols in the Pacific Theater. Unfortunately, it was lost on January 4, 1942, near the Aleutian Islands, likely due to a collision with a Japanese vessel. The submarine's sinking remains a significant event in the history of the United States Navy.
