USS Rainier (AO-10)
The USS Rainier (AO-10) was a fleet oiler of the United States Navy, launched on 27 September 1943. Designed to supply fuel and other essential supplies to naval vessels, she played a crucial role during World War II and beyond. The ship was named after Mount Rainier, a prominent volcano in Washington State.
Throughout her service, the USS Rainier supported various military operations, including those in the Pacific Theater. She was decommissioned in 1970 and later sold for scrapping. The vessel's contributions to naval logistics helped ensure the operational readiness of the fleet during critical missions.
