USS Neosho
The USS Neosho (AO-23) was a fleet oiler of the United States Navy, launched in 1939. Its primary role was to supply fuel and provisions to naval ships at sea, ensuring they could operate effectively during missions. The ship was named after the Neosho River in Kansas.
During World War II, the USS Neosho played a crucial role in the Pacific Theater. It was involved in several significant battles, including the Battle of the Coral Sea. Unfortunately, the ship was sunk by Japanese aircraft in May 1942, resulting in the loss of many crew members.
