USS Puffer (SS-268)
The USS Puffer (SS-268) was a Gato-class submarine of the United States Navy, commissioned during World War II. Launched on 21 December 1943, she was designed for anti-submarine warfare and reconnaissance missions. The submarine was equipped with torpedoes and had a crew of around 60 men, allowing her to operate effectively in the Pacific Theater.
Throughout her service, the USS Puffer completed numerous patrols, earning several battle stars for her contributions. After the war, she was decommissioned in 1946 and later scrapped in 1971. The submarine remains a notable example of naval engineering from her era.
