USS Paulding (DD-222) History
The USS Paulding (DD-222) was a Clemson-class destroyer of the United States Navy, launched on April 3, 1919. It was commissioned on December 15, 1920, and served primarily in the Atlantic Fleet. The ship was named after Rear Admiral John Paulding, a naval officer known for his service during the War of 1812.
During its operational years, the USS Paulding participated in various training exercises and goodwill missions. It was decommissioned on June 30, 1931, and later sold for scrap in 1936. The ship's service contributed to the development of naval tactics and technology in the interwar period.
