Clemson-class destroyer
The Clemson-class destroyer was a class of destroyers built for the United States Navy during World War I. Designed for anti-submarine warfare and fleet escort duties, these ships were known for their speed and maneuverability. A total of 156 vessels were constructed, making it one of the largest classes of destroyers in U.S. history.
These destroyers were equipped with four 4-inch guns and torpedo tubes, allowing them to engage both surface and underwater threats. The Clemson-class played a significant role in naval operations during the war and continued to serve in various capacities during the interwar period and World War II.
