USS Patuxent (AO-201) History
The USS Patuxent (AO-201) was a fleet oiler of the United States Navy, launched on March 15, 1944. She was commissioned on June 30, 1944, and served primarily during World War II, providing essential fuel and supplies to naval vessels in the Pacific Theater.
After the war, the USS Patuxent continued to serve in various capacities, including support during the Korean War and operations in the Vietnam War. She was decommissioned on June 30, 1970, and later sold for scrap in 1974, marking the end of her nearly three-decade service to the Navy.
