USS Patuxent
The USS Patuxent (AO-201) was a fleet oiler of the United States Navy, launched on March 15, 1944. It was designed to supply fuel and other essential supplies to naval vessels at sea, enhancing their operational capabilities. The ship was named after the Patuxent River in Maryland.
Commissioned on December 30, 1944, the USS Patuxent served during the latter part of World War II and continued to operate in the post-war period. It was decommissioned in 1970 and later struck from the Naval Vessel Register. The ship played a vital role in supporting naval operations throughout its service.
