The USS Patuxent (AV-2) was a seaplane tender of the United States Navy, launched on 15 December 1942. She was designed to support naval aviation by providing maintenance and supplies for seaplanes. The ship played a crucial role during World War II, operating primarily in the Pacific Theater. After the war, the USS Patuxent continued to serve in various capacities, including training and logistics support. She was decommissioned on 1 July 1955 and later sold for scrap in 1970.
