USS Pargo (SS-264)
The USS Pargo (SS-264) was a United States Navy submarine that served during World War II. Launched on 28 February 1943, it was a Gato-class submarine designed for anti-submarine warfare and reconnaissance missions. The Pargo was equipped with torpedoes and had a crew of around 80 sailors.
Throughout its service, the Pargo completed several successful patrols in the Pacific Theater, sinking enemy vessels and gathering intelligence. The submarine was awarded multiple battle stars for its contributions to the war effort before being decommissioned in 1945. It was later sold for scrap in 1971.
