USS Pargo (SS-2)
The USS Pargo (SS-2) was a United States Navy submarine, part of the early fleet of submarines commissioned in the 1910s. Launched in 1913, it was designed for underwater warfare and played a role in the development of submarine technology during its service. The Pargo was primarily used for training and experimental purposes.
After serving in various capacities, the USS Pargo was decommissioned in 1923. It was one of the first submarines to contribute to the evolution of naval tactics and submarine design, paving the way for future submarines like the USS Nautilus and the Los Angeles-class.
