USS Neosho (AO-143) History
The USS Neosho (AO-143) was a fleet oiler of the United States Navy, launched on 28 March 1944. It was named after the Neosho River in Missouri. The ship was designed to provide fuel and supplies to naval vessels at sea, playing a crucial role in supporting naval operations during World War II.
Commissioned on 30 November 1944, the USS Neosho served in the Pacific Theater, participating in various operations until the end of the war. After its decommissioning in 1946, the ship was eventually sold for scrap in 1970, concluding its service history.
