USS McCulloch (1896) History
The USS McCulloch was a {United States Navy} gunboat launched in 1896. It was named after {Commodore George McCulloch} and served primarily in the {Spanish-American War}. The vessel was designed for coastal defense and had a displacement of about 1,200 tons, featuring a combination of steam and sail power.
During its service, the USS McCulloch participated in various naval operations, including the blockade of {Cuba}. After the war, it continued to serve in the {Philippines} and was involved in the {Philippine-American War}. The ship was decommissioned in 1914 and eventually sold for scrap.
