USS McCulloch
The USS McCulloch was a United States Navy ship commissioned in 1896. It was a protected cruiser, designed for various naval operations, including reconnaissance and escort duties. The ship was named after General George McCulloch, a notable figure in the American Civil War.
During its service, the USS McCulloch participated in the Spanish-American War and was involved in the Battle of Manila Bay in 1898. The ship was decommissioned in 1910 and later sold for scrap. Its contributions to naval history reflect the evolving role of cruisers in the U.S. Navy during the late 19th century.
