USS Lawrence (DD-8)
The USS Lawrence (DD-8) was a destroyer in the United States Navy, launched on 4 July 1911. It was named after James Lawrence, a naval officer known for his famous last words, "Don't give up the ship!" The ship was part of the Clemson-class destroyers and served primarily during World War I.
Commissioned in 1912, the USS Lawrence played a role in various naval operations, including escort duties and training exercises. It was decommissioned in 1921 and later sold for scrap in 1936. The ship contributed to the development of modern naval warfare during its service.
