USS Cimarron (AO-23)
The USS Cimarron (AO-23) was a fleet oiler of the United States Navy, launched on 12 December 1939. Designed to supply fuel and other essential supplies to naval vessels at sea, she played a crucial role during World War II, supporting operations in the Pacific Theater.
After the war, the Cimarron continued to serve in various capacities, including participating in NATO exercises. She was decommissioned in 1970 and later sold for scrapping. The ship was named after the Cimarron River, which flows through the states of New Mexico and Oklahoma.
