USBM
USBM stands for the United States Bureau of Mines, a former agency of the U.S. government that was established in 1910. Its primary purpose was to promote the safety and efficiency of mining operations, as well as to conduct research on mineral resources. The USBM played a crucial role in developing mining technology and improving safety standards in the industry.
In 1996, the USBM was dissolved, and its functions were transferred to other agencies, including the U.S. Geological Survey and the Mine Safety and Health Administration. Although it no longer exists, the USBM's contributions to mining practices and safety continue to influence the industry today.
