UN Resolution 194
UN Resolution 194 was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on December 11, 1948. It addressed the situation of Palestinian refugees who were displaced during the 1948 Arab-Israeli War. The resolution called for the right of these refugees to return to their homes and for compensation to be provided for those who chose not to return.
The resolution also established the United Nations Conciliation Commission for Palestine, tasked with facilitating peace and resolving the conflict between Israel and the Palestinian people. Although it is a significant document in international discussions, its implementation has been a subject of ongoing debate and contention.
