UDAN scheme
The UDAN scheme, or Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik, is an initiative by the Government of India aimed at enhancing regional air connectivity. Launched in 2016, it seeks to make air travel affordable and accessible for the common citizen by connecting underserved and unserved airports across the country.
Under this scheme, airlines are incentivized to operate flights to these remote areas, with subsidies provided for ticket prices. This initiative not only promotes tourism and economic growth in these regions but also aims to improve the overall infrastructure and connectivity within India.
