Types of Wood
There are two main types of wood: hardwood and softwood. Hardwoods come from deciduous trees, which lose their leaves in winter, such as oak, maple, and cherry. These woods are typically denser and more durable, making them ideal for furniture and flooring.
Softwoods, on the other hand, come from coniferous trees, which usually remain evergreen, like pine, spruce, and cedar. Softwoods are generally lighter and easier to work with, making them popular for construction and paper products. Each type of wood has unique properties that suit different applications.
