Twelve-Step Program
The Twelve-Step Program is a structured approach to recovery from addiction, originally developed by the organization Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). It consists of a series of twelve steps that guide individuals through the process of acknowledging their addiction, seeking help, and making amends. The program emphasizes personal accountability, spiritual growth, and support from peers.
Participants often attend regular meetings where they share experiences and encourage one another. The steps promote self-reflection, honesty, and a commitment to change. While commonly associated with alcohol addiction, the Twelve-Step framework has been adapted for various other issues, including drug addiction and compulsive behaviors.
