Turhan Sultan
Turhan Sultan was an influential figure in the Ottoman Empire, born in 1627. She was the wife of Sultan Ibrahim and the mother of Sultan Muhammad IV. After her husband's deposition, she became the Valide Sultan, or queen mother, and played a significant role in the empire's politics during her son's reign.
As Valide Sultan, Turhan Sultan was known for her strong leadership and involvement in state affairs. She was instrumental in the construction of several important buildings, including the New Mosque in Istanbul. Her influence helped shape the direction of the empire during a time of political instability.
