Tunica–Biloxi language family
The Tunica–Biloxi language family is a group of languages spoken by the Tunica and Biloxi tribes, indigenous peoples of the southeastern United States. This language family is part of the larger Muskogean language family, which includes several other languages spoken in the region. The Tunica language is considered critically endangered, with few fluent speakers remaining.
Efforts are being made to revitalize the Tunica language through educational programs and community initiatives. The Tunica-Biloxi Tribe of Louisiana has been active in preserving their linguistic heritage, promoting cultural awareness, and teaching the language to younger generations.
