Tungara Frog
The Tungara Frog (Engystomops pustulosus) is a small amphibian found primarily in Central and South America. It is known for its distinctive mating call, which consists of a series of "whines" followed by "chucks." These calls are used by males to attract females during the breeding season.
Tungara Frogs typically inhabit tropical rainforests, preferring areas near ponds or streams. They are nocturnal and often found in vegetation near water sources. Their diet mainly consists of small insects, making them important for controlling insect populations in their ecosystems.
