Tung
Tung is a type of tree belonging to the genus Vernicia, primarily found in Southeast Asia. It is known for its seeds, which produce tung oil, a drying oil used in various applications, including woodworking and painting. The oil is valued for its water resistance and ability to enhance the appearance of wood.
The tung tree can grow up to 20 meters tall and has large, heart-shaped leaves. It produces white flowers that develop into seed capsules containing the oil-rich seeds. Due to its economic importance, the cultivation of tung trees has increased in regions where they thrive.
