Tulu
Tulu is a Dravidian language primarily spoken in the southwestern region of India, particularly in the states of Karnataka and Kerala. It is the native language of the Tuluva people and has a rich oral tradition, with a history that dates back over a thousand years. Tulu is recognized for its unique script, which is derived from the Brahmi script, and it has a significant number of speakers, estimated to be around 2 million.
The language is known for its distinct phonetic sounds and vocabulary, which sets it apart from other Dravidian languages like Kannada and Telugu. Tulu culture is also celebrated through various art forms, including traditional dance and music, which often incorporate the language. Efforts are ongoing to promote and preserve Tulu, especially in educational settings and through media.
