Tropicbird Species
Tropicbirds are a group of seabirds belonging to the family Phaethontidae, which includes three species: the Red-tailed Tropicbird, the White-tailed Tropicbird, and the Yellow-billed Tropicbird. These birds are known for their striking plumage, long tail feathers, and graceful flight. They primarily inhabit tropical and subtropical oceans, often nesting on remote islands.
These birds are excellent fliers, using their long wings to glide over the water in search of fish, which they catch by diving. Tropicbirds are also known for their distinctive calls and elaborate courtship displays, making them a fascinating subject for birdwatchers and researchers alike.
