Tropical Oils
Tropical oils are fats derived from tropical plants, primarily palm oil, coconut oil, and shea butter. These oils are typically high in saturated fats, which makes them solid at room temperature. They are commonly used in cooking, baking, and food processing due to their stability and long shelf life.
In addition to culinary uses, tropical oils are also found in personal care products like lotions and soaps. Their moisturizing properties make them popular in cosmetics. However, the production of some tropical oils, particularly palm oil, has raised environmental concerns due to deforestation and habitat destruction.
