Tropical Monsoons
Tropical monsoons are seasonal wind patterns that bring heavy rainfall to tropical regions, primarily in South Asia, Southeast Asia, and parts of Africa. They occur due to the differential heating of land and sea, causing winds to shift and create a wet season, typically from June to September.
During this period, moist air from the ocean moves inland, resulting in intense downpours that can lead to flooding. The dry season follows, usually from October to May, when the winds reverse and bring drier conditions. Tropical monsoons are crucial for agriculture, replenishing water supplies and supporting ecosystems.
