Homonym: Trojan horses (Malware)
A Trojan horse is a deceptive tactic used in computer security, where malicious software is disguised as a legitimate program. Users may unknowingly download and install it, believing it to be safe. Once activated, the Trojan can steal data, damage files, or provide unauthorized access to the user's system.
The term originates from the ancient Greek story of the Trojan War, where the Greeks used a large wooden horse to infiltrate the city of Troy. The Greeks hid soldiers inside the horse, and when the Trojans brought it into their city, they were ultimately defeated from within.
