Trochlear Nerve Palsy
Trochlear Nerve Palsy is a condition that affects the fourth cranial nerve, which controls the movement of the superior oblique muscle in the eye. This nerve is responsible for helping the eye look down and inward. When the trochlear nerve is damaged, it can lead to double vision and difficulty with eye coordination, particularly when looking down.
Symptoms of trochlear nerve palsy may include tilting of the head to compensate for the misalignment of the eyes, as well as difficulty reading or going down stairs. Treatment options often involve prism glasses to correct double vision or, in some cases, surgery to realign the eyes.
