Trip Shakespeare is an American rock band formed in 1986 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The group is known for its eclectic sound, blending elements of rock, pop, and folk. The original lineup included Matt Wilson, Dan Wilson, John Munson, and Michael Bland. They gained a following in the late 1980s and early 1990s, releasing several albums that showcased their unique musical style. The band is often recognized for their intricate harmonies and thoughtful lyrics. Their most notable albums include Applehead Man and Are You Shakespearied?. Although they disbanded in 1992, the members continued to pursue successful music careers, with some forming the band Semisonic.
