The Replacements
The Replacements is an American rock band formed in 1979 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Known for their energetic performances and raw sound, the band played a significant role in the alternative rock scene of the 1980s. Their music blends elements of punk rock, pop, and indie rock, and they gained a loyal following despite never achieving mainstream commercial success.
The original lineup included Paul Westerberg as the lead vocalist and guitarist, along with Bob Stinson, Tommy Stinson, and Chris Mars. The band released several influential albums, such as Let It Be and Tim, before disbanding in 1991. They reunited in 2012, continuing to perform and record new music.
