Tree Anatomy
Tree anatomy consists of several key parts that work together to support the tree's growth and survival. The main components include the roots, trunk, branches, and leaves. The roots anchor the tree in the soil and absorb water and nutrients. The trunk provides structural support and transports these resources between the roots and the rest of the tree.
Branches extend from the trunk and hold the leaves, which are essential for photosynthesis. Leaves capture sunlight and convert it into energy, allowing the tree to grow. Additionally, trees have a protective outer layer called the bark, which shields the inner tissues from damage and disease.
