Treaty of Nijmegen
The Treaty of Nijmegen was a series of agreements signed in 1678 and 1679, ending the conflicts of the Franco-Dutch War and the Dutch War. It involved several European powers, including France, the Dutch Republic, and the Holy Roman Empire, and aimed to restore peace in Europe after years of warfare.
The treaty resulted in territorial changes, with France gaining significant lands, including parts of Flanders and Franche-Comté. It also established a balance of power in Europe, influencing future diplomatic relations and conflicts among the major states of the time.
