Treaty of Hudaybiyyah
The Treaty of Hudaybiyyah was a pivotal agreement made in 628 CE between the early Muslim community led by Prophet Muhammad and the Quraysh tribe of Mecca. The treaty allowed Muslims to perform pilgrimage in Mecca the following year and established a ten-year truce between the two parties, promoting peace and stability in the region.
Despite initial resistance from some Muslims, the treaty ultimately proved beneficial. It allowed for the spread of Islam as more people were able to interact with Muslims during the pilgrimage. The agreement also demonstrated the importance of diplomacy in resolving conflicts and fostering coexistence.
