Treasure of the Flor de la Mar
The Treasure of the Flor de la Mar refers to a vast amount of gold and silver that sank in 1511 when the Portuguese ship Flor de la Mar went down off the coast of Malacca. The treasure was originally looted from the Mayan and Aztec empires and was intended for the Portuguese crown.
Despite numerous attempts to locate and recover the treasure, it remains lost to this day. The shipwreck is considered one of the most valuable undiscovered treasures in history, with estimates suggesting it could be worth hundreds of millions of dollars.
