Travancore State
Travancore State was a former princely state located in the southwestern part of India, primarily in the region that is now part of Kerala. It was established in the 18th century and was ruled by the Travancore royal family. The state was known for its rich cultural heritage, including traditional arts, music, and dance.
In 1947, following India's independence, Travancore merged with the Indian Union. The state played a significant role in the development of modern education and infrastructure in the region. Today, the legacy of Travancore can still be seen in the cultural practices and historical sites throughout Kerala.
