Trans-Isthmus Corridor
The Trans-Isthmus Corridor is a proposed infrastructure project in Mexico aimed at connecting the Pacific Ocean to the Gulf of Mexico. This corridor would facilitate trade and transportation by providing a more efficient route for shipping goods across the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, which is the narrowest part of the country.
The project includes plans for roads, railways, and ports, enhancing connectivity between major cities like Salina Cruz and Coatzacoalcos. By improving infrastructure, the Trans-Isthmus Corridor aims to boost economic development in the region and reduce reliance on the heavily trafficked Panama Canal.
