Tosa Province
Tosa Province was a historical region located in what is now Kochi Prefecture on the island of Shikoku, Japan. It was known for its beautiful landscapes, including mountains and coastlines, and played a significant role in the development of local culture and economy during the Edo period.
The province was also notable for its production of Tosa paper and Tosa lacquerware, which were highly valued in Japan. Tosa Province was officially abolished in the late 19th century during the Meiji Restoration, when Japan underwent significant political and administrative changes, leading to the establishment of modern prefectures.
