Tortell De Reis
Tortell de Reis is a traditional pastry celebrated in Catalonia and other regions of Spain on Epiphany, January 6th. This round cake is typically made from a sweet, brioche-like dough and is often decorated with candied fruits to represent the jewels of a crown. Inside the cake, a small figurine and a dried bean are hidden, adding an element of surprise to the celebration.
The person who finds the figurine is crowned "king" for the day, while the one who discovers the bean must buy the Tortell de Reis the following year. This festive dessert symbolizes the arrival of the Three Wise Men and is enjoyed by families during the holiday season.
