The Torneo Clausura is a professional football tournament held annually in several Latin American countries, primarily in Mexico and Argentina. It typically takes place in the first half of the calendar year, following the Torneo Apertura, which occurs in the latter half of the previous year. Teams compete in a league format, aiming to secure a spot in the playoffs, known as the Liguilla, to ultimately win the championship.
In Mexico, the Torneo Clausura is part of the Liga MX, while in Argentina, it is part of the Primera DivisiĆ³n. The tournament features various clubs, each striving for glory and a chance to qualify for international competitions, such as the Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana.
